The research in my laboratory focuses on the biochemistry and molecular genetics of bacterial proteins, such as chitinases, antimicrobial peptides (bacteriocins), and insecticidal molecules. I am interested on developing strategies for high-level expression and synthesis of these peptides, to do basic and applied research that could allow their use in agriculture, food industry and pharmacy
