Description
Maltose Binding Protein is a protein often used in biotechnological applications mostly for purifying fusion proteins as maltose binding protein can readily bind to purification media that have been functionalized with maltose. We are using Maltose Binding Protein to template gold nanoparticle growth and to solubilize the nanoparticles in aqueous solution. Maltose Binding Protein is being used because it is sold in a fusion system with a zein (which we will be exploiting in our synthesis).
