Using KOH as an alternative Base

Making a 20 mM solution of KOH Molar Mass of KOH --> 56.1056 g/mol 1 mol * (20/1000) = 0.02 M * 56.1056 g/mol = 1.12212g/1L= 0.001122 g * 50 = 0.0561056 g/50mL

15 minutes at 80℃ water bath

KOH Concentration and pH of sample after boil

  • 5 mM = pH 3.89
  • 7.5 mM = pH 3.466
  • 10mM = pH 4.60
  • 12.5mM = pH 4.409
