| Welcome! I'm a third-year doctoral student at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, VA and a member of Dr. Stephen Fong's [[Fong| ''Systems Biological Engineering Laboratory'']] in the Department of Chemical and Life Science Engineering. Currently, I am working on designing and characterizing genetic components useful for controlling transcription and translation in ''Escherichia coli''. In the near future, I hope to apply this work toward metabolic pathway engineering. I am also actively developing synthetic biology educational material. Please feel free to [mailto:mcarthurgh@vcu.edu email me].
| | I am a Scientist at [http://arzeda.com Arzeda Corp.], where I develop novel metabolism in industrial bacteria and fungi. Please visit [http://mcarthurresearch.com my webpage] for more information about my current and past work in synthetic biology, metabolic engineering and related biotechnology. |
