Summary

While working with the Biophysics group in the Systems Biology Lab, I learned about how to use stochastic methods to predict bacterial persistence, mediated by Toxin - Antitoxin polycistronic mRNA loci dynamics. In order to do so, I designed an analytical SDE (stochastic differential equations) model describing the time-dependent probability distributions of the times in which the system switches between modes as well as the values in which the system exits from one mode to another.

After finishing my undergraduate programs, I worked as a RA in the Biophysics group for one additional year, learning about MACS and flow cytometry. Later on, I got to be an International Visiting Fellow at Solarea Bio - The Rowland Institute, a biotech startup company located in Cambridge, MA, USA. Here I got to work on microbiome therapeutics research while learning about scientific entrepreneurship.
