Objective
Description10 mL and 1 mL mixtures with the same molar ratios were created.
Au/BSA Molar Ratio 70: .042 mL HAuCl4 + .1 mL BSA + .85 mL H2O Au/BSA Molar Ratio 166: .1 mL HAuCl4 + .1 mL BSA + .8 mL H2O
Au/BSA Molar Ratio 70: .42 mL HAuCl4 + 1 mL BSA + 8.5 mL H2O Au/BSA Molar Ratio 166: 1 mL HAuCl4 + 1 mL BSA + 8 mL H2O
DataBoth pairs of mixtures were kept at a constant 80 degrees for approximately 2.5 hours. The 1 mL mixtures were in a heatblock, and the 10 mL mixtures were in an oven.
Au/BSA molar ratio 70 yielded a purple solution (A) Au/BSA molar ratio 166 yielded purple fibers in clear solution (B)
Au/BSA molar ratio 70 yielded a purple solution (C) Au/BSA molar ratio 166 yielded dark purple fibers in clear solution (D) Notes
