Notes
- The pipettes that provided the best fluorescence results for each sample were both the straight plastic pipette and 90° angle bent pipette
- All samples run maintained a composition incorporating Rhodamine 6G dye
- In comparison, the laponite incorporated hydrogels are squishy, clear, extremely adsorbent, and soft to touch
- The sodium montmorrillonite incorporated hydrogels are hard, dingy, flat, and dull colored (brownish appearance)
- For laponite samples, one can actually see the Rhodamine 6G dye added clearly within each hydrogel sample (reddish pink appearance)
- Also the sodium montmorrillonite samples in most cases began to grow a greenish type mold within the hydrogels
- All samples on 2/27/13 were tested using the bent pipette containing the 90° angle (See figure listed below)
