Objective

  • Prepare standard solutions using the stock solution.
  • Run the ICP on the prepared solutions.

Description

  1. Samples were added to the ICP machine and then run until completion at which point the tubing was cleaned with HPLC grade water and 10% HCl solution.

Data

Calculate the concentration of standard

  • (100 μg/mL)(1 mL/1.036)= 96.5ppm
  • Has density of 1.036g/mL
  1. Newly made solutions
    1. 10.26ppm (1.036g of 96.5ppm sample used, added water to total of 10.01g)
    2. 7.96ppm (0.8288g of 96.5ppm sample used, added water to total of 10.001g)
    3. 6.12ppm (0.6216g of 96.5ppm sample used, added water to total of 10.035g)
    4. 4.058ppm (0.4144g of 96.5ppm sample used, added water to total of 10.202g)
    5. 2.22ppm (0.2072g of 96.5ppm sample used, added water to total of 10.057g)
    6. 1.038ppm (0.1036g of 96.5ppm sample used, added water to total of 50.02g)
    7. 0.5011ppm (4.816g of 1.038ppm sample used, added water to total of 10.002g)
    8. 0.2491ppm (2.408g of 1.038ppm sample used, added water to total of 10.008g)
