BE UG Board Meeting Minutes
October 8th 2008
BEUG Lounge
10:00pm

Attendance: Marta, Maryelise, Bernice, Dawn, Joseph

  1. Welcome and Attendance
  2. Curriculum Committee - no update yet from Cathy or Linda
    • Cathy will let us know when she finds out
  3. ASA recognition - met with BE-BMES to discuss differences?
    • switch to "sponsored" status
    • email to meet with BE-BMES exec to talk about the differences between our groups
      • try to work things out for the next ASA deadline (Nov 7th?)
    • Dawn email about meeting tomorrow with ASA to discuss again
  4. Tshirts for the semester - Bernice
    • Surveys all set up on the BE Board Website
    • other majors can order it by word of mouth (we can tell them where to find the website, but not advertise directly to other majors)
    • email out this weekend
    • Order Deadline: Friday, October 17th
    • $10-12
    • wait to set the date for the study break
  5. Course 20 Underground Guide - Emzo
    • Start thinking about questions
    • email out to put together a committee
  6. Associate Advising
  7. Royal East Dinners (for sophomores)
    • Nov 5, Nov 6
    • Dawn email out to AA's to get them to get together with their advisees soon
  8. Study Breaks
    • Redbones Study Break (for Associate Advising)

      • Bernice figure out vermonster delivery options

  9. Exploring the Majors Fair
    • October 20, 3:30-5p Kresge Lobby
    • need 2-3 volunteers
    • Maryelise put together BE Slideshow
    • use information from Cathy
  10. BE Prefrosh System
    • Cathy wants to put together a system where pre-frosh can get together with BE students and talk about the major
    • Get list of volunteers of students to do lunch/dinner with a prefrosh
    • Marta emails to get volunteers
  11. IM Sports
    • send an email later this term to see if anyone is interested
  12. Improvements to BE lounge (email to Cathy and Dan)
    • Big screen TV

    • more trash cans (in the smaller rooms)

  1. email out to get a committee to work on the underground guide with Emzo (email Emzo)
  2. email out to advertise the vermonster lounge study break
  3. email lounge requests to Cathy/Dan

Dawn:

  1. email ASA to meet tomorrow before the decision
  2. email BE-BMES exec
  3. email AA's about getting together with your advisees

Bernice:
