Applications are due by 10pm Friday, March 20th and final decisions will be made by the end of spring break. They will only be accepted using the online form posted below. We advise you keep your answers relatively brief. We will take into account that freshman likely have less experience and would suggest that you include any high school experiences that show leadership, teamwork or scientific knowledge.
When reading applications we will pay careful attention to the first 3 short essay questions. We understand that you will have other responsibilities during the summer that may take up some of your time. Two weeks or less during the summer away from iGEM will not hurt your application.
For the iGEM 2009 competition, Illinois will have two teams. The wet lab team will be making an organism. The tools track team will be working on a biology related application. If you are interested in being a member of either team please fill out the following form and submit it by 10:00 PM on March 20th, 2009. Decisions will be made by March 30, 2009. The first meeting for the summer team will be on March 31, 2009 at 8:00PM. If you have any questions regarding the application please email illinoisiGEM@gmail.com .
