Kwabena O Duedu PhD, Principal Investigator

Kwabena
Kwabena is a Lecturer and and principal investigator. He had his bachelors and masters at the University of Ghana and went on to do his PhD at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, UK. His work at the University of Ghana focused on epidemiology intestinal parasites, co-infections with malaria and parvovirus and diagnosis of recent HIV seroconversions. At Edinburgh, he worked in the Lab of Prof. Chris French in developing novel multicatalytic recombinant by gene fusion and synthetic biology. He was also involved in developing advanced DNA assembly techniques. He is a Chartered Biologist and an elected Member of the Society of Biology, UK. He is also an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK as well as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.

Adjoa A. Boakye PhD, Investigator

Adjoa is a Lecturer in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, UHAS. She was trained for her bachelors in Biochemistry at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana and proceed to the University of Louisville, Kentucky, USA for her masters and PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. At the KNUST, he was the best graduating science student in her year group. Her interests are in cardiovascular biology, immunity and biotechnology. She has expertise in using specialized equipment such as HPLC and also experience with mice work.


Gladys Kaba MPhil, Investigator

Gladys

Gladys is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, UHAS. Her interests are in Head and neck squamous cell carcinomas in Ghana, Human Papillomavirus (HPV) related cancers and tumor markers. She is also interested in Malaria and Malaria vaccine development as well as infectious diseases and non-infectious diseases such as diabetes and Epstein - Barr viruses.


Technicians/Research Assistants

Comfort Agyare, BSc

Comfort is a senior research assistant in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, UHAS. She is a graduate of Applied Biology from the University of Development Studies, Tamale.

Medrack Afatsao

Medrack is currently taking his national service in the lab. He is a graduate of Biomedical Engineering from the University of Ghana.
