Week 1 Feedback

Here is the feedback on your Week 1 Assignment. Thank you for completing the assignment on time (although your e-mail to me was late) I am not penalizing for late work for the Week 1 assignment, but will start to do so with Week 2. You may make up the points you missed on this assignment by completing the requested changes by the Week 3 wiki deadline, midnight Tuesday, September 20 (Monday night/Tuesday morning).

  • You completed all of the the items in the assignment, except for the following:
    • You wrote something in the Summary field for 23 out of 33 changes, or 82% of the time. This is OK, but we are aiming to write in the Summary field 100% of the time. Be aware that you've written something before you click "Save page".
    • You have only two levels of headings; for the assignment, you need three. That means you need headers with 2, "==", 3, "===", and 4, "====" sets of equals signs.
    • You created your template page, but you need to invoke it on your actual user page by using <nowiki>==Useful Links==

. This is similar to the idea that you first have to upload an image, but to see it on your page, you need to include the image syntax on the page on which you want to display the image. See me if you need further clarification.

    • Your Acknowledgments and References sections are missing from your User page. You need to include these two pages every week.
      • Your list of links looks a lot like Anu's list; because there is no Acknowledgments section, I don't know whether you worked with her directly, borrowed her style, or came up with that on your own. Please clarify.
  • I'm glad to hear that you are comfortable with and like math because there is quite a bit of that in bioinformatics!
