Current Research

I am developing a method for high-throughput selection of RNA aptamers to small molecules and proteins using Capillary Electrophoresis - SELEX (Systematic Evolution of Ligands by EXponential enrichment) for integration as sensor domains in engineered riboswitches.

Additional Research Interests

I am interested in further elucidating the role of gene expression in various pathways in the CNS by studying RNAi and the translational regulatory role of microRNAs in cell differentiation and survival with respect to development of responsive gene therapies for a variety of neurodegenerative diseases, especially those with observed myelin pathologies.
