When

Thursday July 3 (8 am - noon or finished)

What

  • Sort out pipettes so that everyone with a bench in the new lab has a set
  • -80oC main and backup (remove supplies that are expired or no longer needed, clear out alumni boxes, organize contents for move)
  • -20 main and individual freezers (remove supplies that are expired or no longer needed, clear out alumni boxes, organize contents for move)
  • Cold room (remove old plates, wipe down all surfaces with bleach, organize for move)
  • Deli fridge and individual 4C (remove old plates and supplies that are expired or no longer needed, wipe down all surfaces (inside and out) with bleach, organize for move)
  • Gel station, including shelves and drawers (dispose of broken equipment, decontaminate supplies/equipment that will not be used before the move and pack them, discard old or unused buffers)
  • Sinks (remove all items from pegs/sink area and cabinet and put in appropriate location, wipe down sink, cabinets underneath and peg areas)
  • Both rocking platforms (bleach to remove mold/mildew)
  • Benchtop centrifuges (remove rotors, clean them and the main centrifuge)
  • Floor centrifuge (clean rotors, yellow tube holders, under rotor), sort through supplies above centrifuge (clean shelves, discard unused balance tubes, etc)
  • Wash shelving above incubators
  • Standing incubators (clean all surfaces with ethanol or bleach; discard any old plates that were forgot; clean rotators)
  • Electroporator/ dry baths (remove/ organize supplies, clean surfaces)
  • Shaking incubators (take out and clean platforms, wipe down walls inside and outside, go through supplies and discard broken brackets)
  • Flask holders and shaking incubator accessories (clean and organize for move, discard any unusable brackets)
  • Fume hoods (remove trash, put chemicals in appropriate area, ensure all waste is properly labeled and segregated, wipe down surfaces in cabinets and in fumehoods)
  • Food fridges/microwave/dish racks (put things that belong to kitchen back, throw away contents, thaw fridges, wipe out fridges and microwave, wash dish rack)
  • Chemical room (wipe down areas around balances and pH meter, organize supplies for move, remove any trash/recycling, discard of acid/ base/ buffers that are old)
  • PCR blocks (Delete old protocols/user names, wipe down all surfaces)
  • Update software as needed on equipment computers and remove unnecessary data/users (all data should be backed up on SoE server)
  • Quanta area and cabinet (organize supplies for move, throw out any unneeded items/samples)
  • Vyb area (organize supplies for move, throw out any unneeded items/samples)
  • LC-MS area and cabinet (organize supplies for move, throw out any unneeded items/samples)
  • HPLC/nanodrop area (discard old bottles and samples, wipe down surfaces, organize supplies, clean shelves)
  • Robot and CE area (organize for move, discard unused supplies, wipe down surfaces)
  • Biacore area (clean and organize)
  • Benchtop spinners (decontaminate)
  • Vacuum set ups (empty waste and decontaminate)
  • Speedvac Vacufuge (wipe down surfaces)
  • Gel imager (wipe down surfaces inside and out)
  • Radioactive station/freezer and imager (clean)
  • TC room/fridge/incubators; space outside of TC room
  • Carts (put supplies where the belong and wipe down surfaces)
  • Water baths
  • TC room water bath
  • Wipe down bench tops, sinks, cabinets, drawers, shelving, and fume hood surfaces
  • Get rid of any excess stuff that is not needed on benches and shelves
