File:4-30 difference in field.png
Original file (900 × 703 pixels, file size: 28 KB, MIME type: image/png)
This is a graph of the difference in field strength between a magnetic yoke, and a cone and small cylindrical magnet flanking a flow cell. The y-axis represents the difference, measured in Tesla, where a positive value indicates that the control is stronger. The x-axis represents the length measured in inches. Since all values are positive along the length of the graph, it is clear that the control has a much stronger field throughout the given area. The data was generated by FEMM and analyzed in MATLAB.
Between the left side of the graph and the red line is the area representing where liquid would be present in a flow cell. The area to the right of the black line represents where the liquid would be in one of the thin walled micro-centrifuge tubes.
