LAB 2 WRITE-UP

Descriptive Statistics

Experiment 1
The first experiment was of retired people (humans) of age range 60 to 82 years for a total of 40 people. The participants were divided randomly into four groups of ten; each group was given a differing dosage of LPS (Group 1 received 0 mg/ Group 2 received 5 mg/Group 3 received 10 mg/Group 4 received 15 mg). The amount of Inflammotin (pg/ml) was recorded after taking the medicine.

Experiment 2
The second experiment was of ten lab rats broken up into two groups of five rats, where the rats were given one of two possible doses of LPS. Group 1 received 0 mg and Group 2 received 10 mg.

Results

Experiment 1
Since the Human experiment used six different comparisons, the ANOVA test was used.

Experiment 2
A T-Test was used for the rat experiment due to only two comparisons being made.

Analysis

Experiment 1
Since the data's t-test value is smaller than the corrected p-value (0.008333) for the post-hoc test, the values are significant.

Experiment 2
