If we were doing this long-term, I'd want to get to the bottom of the issue of why it cannot be stored at a lower concentration. But since we're not, we can hold off on that.

Casein

  • Also, if you have time today, looking into the kappa-casein (the little bottle you found in the -20C) may be a good idea. It's expensive, but not crazily expensive, and the casein is a huge suspect also in terms of why the assay didn't work last time. I think you'd want to try making 2 mg / ml casein in BRB80--or possibly lower conc., we can look at it together if you'd like.
