Statement of work

Using Ion Pair Chromatography (IPC) the proposed project will determine the following:

  1. Characterization differences from SHMP samples from Yanbu, Asia Pacific, and Ashtabula
  2. The species of polyphosphates present in TiO2 slurries and finished product
  3. Solution conditions that best reduced the hydroxylation of the long chain polyphosphates, by adjusting temperature and pH.

Gaining experience in using liquid chromatography as an analytical technique will be an added benefit. Method development for the types of reagents, concentration of reagents, use of organic modifiers, pH effects and other mobile phase additives will fine tune research competence.
