Au/Zn Core-Shell Nanoparticles

Using the prepared stock solutions, two samples were prepared as follows:
a) 1mL AuNP (His/NaOH) + 1mL His + 1mL NH4OH + 1mL ZnAc2 + 6mL H2O
b) 1mL AuNP (His/NH4OH) + 1mL His + 1mL NaOH + 1mL ZnAc2 + 6mL H2O
Both solutions were then placed in the oven at 80°C for the next six days.

Figures (a) and (b) display the absorbance spectra of both the prepare Histidine stock solutions, with no observed peaks in both spectra.

Freeze Dry Gold Nanoparticles

A 15mL falcon tube, with its cap was weighed, before the addition of 5mL of the gold nanoparticles into the falcon tube. The falcon tube was then reweighed. As there was no liquid nitrogen available, this portion of the experiment was unable to be continued.
