Objective
Crosslink chitosan that has been neutralized with 0.005 M glutaraldehyde.
Lab Protocol
Used previous pump set up to crosslink chitosan using mineral oil instead of olive oil and 1 mL/min for carrier fluid flow rate on grey pump.
Data
- the neutralized chitosan did not crosslink with the diluted gultaraldehyde. tried again with a more concentrated glutaraldehyde mixture like last semester (1/2 mL of glutaraldehyde with 2.5 mL of water in 3 mL syringe) also did not work.
- made more dissolved chitosan in 5% HC2H3O2 to try to crosslink with the full 8% gultaraldehyde next time.
- retired to make MG clay solutions for UV-Vis analysis
