Biomaterials Design Lab Main project page Previous entry      Next entry Objective To use new set up with four way mixing junction to allow ethyl acetate to flow past PVA to pull off droplets. Lab Protocol ethyl acetate rate is 0.025 (needs to be 3x faster than PVA) PVA rate is 0.05 This is based on the fact that the 30 mL syringe (for ethyl acetate) area is 5.86 larger than 3 mL syringe. Data Image of new setup. After testing in hopes of creating smaller beads we increased both rates to 0.3 mL/min and 0.04 mL/min for ethyl acetate and PVA respectively. Notes
