Objective

To finalize the set-up of dual syringe pumps with rates (red: 0.05 mL/min grey: 0.1 mL/min) and length of tygon tubing (501 cm) to see if beads will properly set.

Lab Protocol

Set-up as described in previous notebook entry.

Data

Notes

  • PEEK tubing was popping out of PVA syringe. Tried to fix by affixing tubing directly to syringe with epoxy.
  • Discovered that PVA was clogging and that "beads" that have been forming were mostly gulteraldehyde.
  • Most likely gluteraldehyde rate is too high and needs to be slowed down.
  • Also most tubing was clogged and needed to thoroughly be cleaned with 10% HCl and soaked in water.
