Objective Synthesize the Cerium Nitrate variant of the Desired POM. Protocol Added 1.6297 of Potassium precursor to 40 mL of DI water. Added 0.899 g of Cerium Nitrate hexahydrate to 20 mL of DI water. Combined the two solutions above and adjusted the PH to 3.5 using 1 M NaOH. Refluxed for 2 hours at 80 °C Cooled solution to room temperature Left solution mixing overnight Observations Starting solutions were both clear and colorless but reaction solution (mixture) turned cloudy and white with a slight hint of yellow.
