- Synthesize AuNPs with varying concentrations of HAuCl4
- Refine the protocol for creating polymer films

- For the second batch of AuNPs the HAuCl4
- Polymer Films
- The dry mix was made of PEO and Trifilate
- Initially it was heated at 60°C
- It was expected to begin melting around 30 minutes. After an hour of nothing occurring the temperature was increased to 120°C and it began to compress and get sticky
- The mixture was packed into a mold and run through the hot press at 90°C

- 2%: 2.97851g of PEO, 0.05966g of trifilate
- 3%: 2.94637g of PEO, 0.08514g of trifilate
- 4%: 2.87793g of PEO, 0.13288g of trifilate
Note: this amount overflowed mold and mixed with the other concentrations. Too much!
For batches of 3
- 2%: 1.48350g PEO, 0.03063g of trifilate
- 3%: 1.45656g PEO, 0.04697g of trifilate
- 4%: 1.44136g PEO, 0.06807g of trifilate
Note: this amount was too little and didn't fill all of the molds. Only made 2/6 full films.
