Objective

  1. Malachite green samples need to be redone with new concentrations and characterized again with UV-VIS. Standard absorbance curve will be generated
  2. Stock solutions of Rhodamine B will be characterized by fluorescence spectroscopy

Description

  • Malachite Green UV-Vis
  1. Cuvettes were cleaned between uses by washing twice with water then sodium dodecyl sulfate and once with water then 10% HCl.

Cuvettes were filled 3/4 full and were inserted into the UV-Vis. Each sample was run and saved as both a .txt and .spec file

  1. 7.24 mg of Rhodamine B
  2. dissolved in methanol and transferred to sample container
    1. final mass of 3.3205 g
    2. water added to 14.39510 g
