Meeting with JeffreyToday I had a meeting with Jeffrey Way (who collaborates with Silver Lab, and who is in fact the husband of Pamela A. Silver). He is also working in the mathematical modeling of the AKT signaling pathway. He conceived his own model, and it seems that he applies the same kind of theoretical approach to some modeling problems concerning insulin therapies. he explained to me that the action of teh ZSTK drug has some bad consequences, since the limitation in the action of AKT makes other oncogenic signaling pathway to work. Which is to say, the reduction of the action of AKT results in the augmentation of the action of the other pathway. I need to verify this information, since it opens new possibilities of collaboration. It was a very interesting meeting. | |
