Methods Filter PPF-18 and PPF-20 Synthesized on 05/29/12 Pour PPF-18/PPF-20 onto Reeve Angel #802 filter paper on a watch glass. Allow to filter for 1 hr. Synthesize PPF-18 and PPF-20 Synthesize 2 vials of PPF-18: Mix 7.9 mg TCPP, 8.9 mg Zn(NO3)2•6H2O, 4.2 mg DPNI, and 50 μL 1.0 M HCl in ethanol. Add to a mixture of 1.5 mL DEF and 0.5 mL ethanol. Sonicate to mix. Heat in an oven at 80oC for 24 hr. Synthesize 2 vials of PPF-20: Mix 7.9 mg TCPP, 8.9 mg Zn(NO3)2•6H2O, 16.8 mg DPNI, and 30 μL 1.0 M HCl in ethanol. Add to a mixture of 1.5 mL DMF and 0.5 mL ethanol. Sonicate to mix. Heat in an oven at 80oC for 24 hr. Synthesize PPF-4 from PPF-20 Mix 19.4 mg PPF-20, 6.9 mg BPY, 1.5 mL DEF, and 0.5 mg EtOH Swirl and allow to react for 3 hr.
