Remains of the Day

  • Testing taq - 20 cycles vs 40 cycles on pSB1A2 plasmid using VF and VR primers. Also do 16S with or without test bacterial DNA and fungal 18S, with or without fungal DNA.
  • Extend the DNAse digestion of RNA (10 min vs 2), then make new cDNA from it (only 25 min extention, not 45) and test later today for EF1 and PR1 expression. Plan to treat the cDNA with RNAse before doing PCR (but can't today because everyone is using the PCR machine)
  • Research disease projects a bit more. Read some papers on oil palm production. Email Peter Van Straaten about projects with rock fertilizer.
