Project Description/Abstract

We are using synthetic chromatin proteins to induce a permanently re-opened state at epigenetically silenced genes. To this end, I am working to create a set of expression plasmids containing various activators fused to Gal4DB_mCh so that the proteins can be visualized for quantification. They will be targeted to a silenced luciferase transgene to test duration of induced activation.

Notes

This project has just been handed over to me from Daniel Vargas for my rotation. Rene Daer is taking this project over from me at the end of my rotation.
