To-do List

  1. Design permag yoke
  2. Run simulation
  3. Custom parts?
  4. Order pieces?

Permanent Magnetic Yoke

I came up with a really simple design for my magnetic yoke using the 1/2 inch cylinders, the cone, and the bends that I found. So going around from the gap, I have:

  • The cone
  • 2" long cylinder
  • 90o bend
  • 2" long cylinder
  • 90o bend
  • 5" long cylinder
  • 90o bend
  • 2" long cylinder
  • 90o bend
  • 2" long cylinder

For all of the cylinders, the diameter would be 1/2" to keep consistent with the cones. This set up would have a 1/2" gap between the flat part and the tip of the cone, if I need to shorten it, then I can use some of the other small magnets and just slide them in. A quick sketch of what I'm thinking:
