Alan J. Cone (an artistic interpretation)

I work in the Your Lab at XYZ University. I learned about OpenWetWare from Google search for preparing long-term storage of E. coli in glycerol., and I've joined because I am a fan of open science and ensuring that everyone has the ability to easily find protocols or information. In the lab I am a part of, along with other labs I have collaborated with, I am finding there is not a centralized location for protocols and most people have either just memorized steps or are constantly searching for how to do something. I'd like to be part of OWW to help fix that problem. Most of what I'd like to edit would involve yeast methods and general widely-applicable lab methods, such as plating or other things that after awhile seem like second nature but a new lab member would be lost doing. I'd also like to look more at OWW to see if it is a good fit for hosting information from the lab I am in..
