Entry title General Helen This morning I dissected a stage 24 embryo and injected the basal plate in various locations (laterally) with DiI/Meth and then the nerve stubs with DiO and have placed that in an incubator to mount tomorrow. I left some connective tissue on the hind brain because that is what we did last time and once we removed it, it removed some dye with it but left us with the right amount of dye on the basal plate so that we could see individual axons. I hope that it hasn't prevented the dye from being taken up at all. I am off to a seminar on critical thinking in medicine at 1 pm so that will likely take the afternoon but if I have time I would like to be able to try and dissect and dye a younger age with crystals because I feel like I still don't have that technique under control.
