Purpose
- To test the absorbance in solutions with various ratio of gold nanoparticles (AU) to BSA (Bovine Serum Albumin)
- To discover trends in the increase of Au/BSA ratios
Procedure
- Bovine Serum Albumin stock solution was prepared at 15.806uM.
- Chloroauric Acid (HAuCl4) stock solution was prepared at 9.862mM.
- BSA and chloroauric acid at the above concentrations was mixed in various amounts and was diluted with sterile water to the proper ratio. See table below for details.

- 40mL of solution with various Au/BSA ratios were labeled and placed in incubator for four hours at __°C, and left in room temperature until the following week.
Notes
- Various ratios of Au/BSA Solutions appeared yellow and transparent when mixed.
- Test tubes with solutions enclosed were wrapped around with aluminum foil to prevent light-stimulated effects.
