Welcome to my homepage at OpenWetWare!

I'm an Anesthesiologist and Intensivist (since 08/2011) at the Department of Intensive Care Medicine (H van der Hoeven, MD, PhD), University Hospital Nijmegen, in The Netherlands.

Before I did a fellowship in Intensive Care Medicine (until 07/2011) at the same department.

I have earned the European diplomas in Anesthesiology (D.E.S.A., 2010) and in Intensive Care (EDIC, 2012).

Until July 2010 I used to work as an Anesthesiologist at the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (H van Aken, MD), University Hospital Muenster, Germany,
and was a member of the Collaborative Research Center (SFB) 656 MoBil: "Molecular Cardiovascular Imaging - from mouse to man", Muenster, Germany and
a Research Fellow at the Theilmeier Lab.

Since 2008 I have been working as Emergency physician (Notarzt) and physician for interhospital transport of critically ill patients at Berufsfeuerwehr Muenster, Berufsfeuerwehr Dortmund, Kreis Steinfurt and Kreis Kleve, Germany.

From 02/2006 until 03/2007 I was doing a Postdoc at Dr. Young/Dr. Yang's lab at the Center for Cerebrovascular Research
at the Department of Anesthesia (R Miller, MD) at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), CA, USA.

In my "earlier" life I was working as a volunteer at an ambulance service, gave first-aid-classes and worked in the management of a local civil protection service.
