Talk:DNA Precipitation

• Matthew D. Smith 14:50, 7 January 2008 (CST): I'm going to try to build some more information into this article. There are a number of a ways to precipitate DNA--ethanol precipitation being one, isopropanol precipitation being another, and butanol being yet another. I'll research it in a few of the protocol books and try to type up something on this page. Perhaps we should make sub-pages for each method of extraction? We could also make an outline type system for each method. Let me know what you all think--I'm rather new to the OWW community.

• Reshma 14:55, 7 January 2008 (CST): Sounds great. There is some relevant info at Purification of DNA ... specifically the section on alcohol purification. Perhaps you could move that content here ... and expand it? And then link to DNA Precipitation from Purification of DNA.

• Matthew D. Smith 15:27, 7 January 2008 (CST):That sounds great. I think that DNA Precipitation is something of a subset of Purification of DNA, so that link definitely makes sense.

With all due resepect but is there a reason why we need 2 protocols for the same? Maybe they could be merged?
