Peyton lab earns first NSF support

The Peyton lab has just been notified that we have won a PESO award for the work that Lauren is
leading on tissue tropism in breast cancer. Our collaborator (Nicholas Reich, Biostatistics, UMass)
and we will put this money to good use to find novel mechanisms to stop the dangerous spread
of breast cancer to the brain, bone, and lung. You can find information about this award from
the *NSF website*, and from a award notice from NSF.

Shelly wins the Barry and Afsaneh Siadet Early Career Award

Our work on drug resistance in cancer, led by Thuy Nguyen, will now have the support it deserves
thanks to generous funding from Barry and Afsaneh Siadet, who are prestigious alumni of UMass.

Welcome new undergrad army!

Though we are sad to see some amazing students leave the Peyton lab, it also means that spots
are freed up to welcome the next best and brightest! Join me in welcoming several new undergraduates
to the Peyton lab: Aidan Gilchrist, Marianne Sleimann, Isaac Han, and Elyse Hartnet. They are all off to
flying starts and will contribute mightily to the lab efforts.

Farewell Erinn, Prateek, and Tyler...

The Peyton lab sends out its first graduates: Erinn Dandley, Prateek Katti, and Tyler Vlass
out into the world with a heavy heart. They have all been such amazing members of the lab,
and we are very sad to see them go. Congrats on graduating seniors, and best of luck!!!
