Michael received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Julius Maximillians University at the University of Wuerzburg Germany in 2000. He analyzed the replication termination in the murine rDNA locus. He arrived at OHSU in January 2001 as a postdoctoral fellow, receiving a fellowship from the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft). Since June 2004 he is a Postdoctoral Associate in Physiology and Pharmacology at OHSU working on Mu Opioid Receptor Regulation in the Neonatal Brainstem.
