1. Dissolve in ddH2O:

  • 1.00 g MgSO4•7H2O
  • 0.2 g CaCl2•6H2O (or 0.014 g CaCl2•2H2O)
  • 1.00 g KNO3

2. Fill to 1000 mL

3. Add 2 mL NMS Trace Elements

4. Autoclave

1x NMS2 - 1L

1. Dissolve in ddH2O:

  • 1.00 g MgSO4•7H2O
  • 0.02 g CaCl2•6H2O
  • 1.00 g KNO3
  • 7.50 g NaCl

2. Fill to 1000 mL 3. Add 2 mL NMS Trace Elements 4. Autoclave

1x NMS Trace Elements - 1L

(correct as of 05/22/13)

Note that trace elements should be remade approximately every 3 months

1. Dissolve in ddH2O:

  • 1.0g Na2-EDTA
  • 2.0g FeSO4•7H2O
  • 0.8g ZnSO4•7H2O
  • 0.03g MnCl2•4H2O
  • 0.03g H3BO3
  • 0.2g CoCl2•6H2O
  • 0.6g CuCl2•2H2O
  • 0.02g NiCl2•6H2O
  • 0.05g Na2MoO•2H2O

2. Fill to 1L

3. Autoclave

4. Divide into 250 ml aliquots and label one as “In Use”

5. Store in refrigerator
