The Laboratory for Biological Information Processing - LabPIB (after the Portuguese acronym), was created in 2008 with the mission/ambition of being a national reference in [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bioinformatics Bioinformatics] research, teaching and outreach. In our perspective, Bioinformatics is recognized by the intense usage of computational and mathematical techniques for the generation and management of bioinformation. O Laboratório de Processamento de Informação Biológica - LabPIB, foi criado em 2008 com a missão/ambição de ser uma referência nacional em pesquisa, ensino e extensão na área de Bioinformática. Na nossa perspectiva, a Bioinformática é caracterizada pela aplicação intensiva de técnicas computacionais e matemáticas para a geração e gerenciamento de bioinformação. O LabPIB desenvolve pesquisas em sub(sub-sub-...)-áreas específicas da Bioinformática, relacionadas à Biologia Molecular e Biologia Sistêmica.
