We will not meet in the Lab this week. Your lab instructor will let you know where to come for our Concept Discussion/Writing Workshop. Bring hard copies of the main journal articles you used as sources and referenced in your draft Introduction assignment. Be prepared to lead the class discussion or summarize the major points of the articles. Construct figures/tables with properly formatted legends to illustrate the main findings in your Series3:Reverse Genetics by RNAi project (5pts). These figures are a draft of those that will be part of the results section of the research report you will write for Series3. Bring these figures in hard copy to the Writing Workshop AND submit them electronically to Sakai. We will spend some time talking about the concepts involved in our reverse genetics project using RNAi and answering your questions about scientific writing in preparation for writing your Series 3 paper. We will work in groups on revising/correcting your draft attempt at Materials and Methods, the Introduction, looking critically together at Effective Figure Design, and talking about where you might go in your Discussion.
