We're interested in genetics of natural variation, population genetics and molecular biology. We want to know how climate change is shaping plant's resistance and tolerance traits under a combined multidisciplinary approach. Our lab undertakes a research approach that looks for the genetic and molecular basis of naturally occurring quantitative variation in biotic and abiotic stress responses, and how these interact with the environment (genotype-by-environment interactions). This multidisciplinary approach will allow a better understanding of the natural evolution of stress pathways in plants and efficient know-how transfer in practical applications.<br>

Plant-Environment Interactions
Challenges and Consequences of Climate Change (C4)

Advance in Knowledge. We're interested in genetics of natural variation, population genetics and molecular biology. We're currently studying immune-receptor gene variation and its involvement in temperature-conditioned incompatibilities between populations and activation of defense.

Applied research. Our lab collaborates with the group of A.F.Tiburcio to study polyamine homeostasis in plants and its practical applications for inducing stress tolerance against abiotic stresses.

Dissemination of Knowledge. For a more detailed view of our research, have a look at our Research Projects and Scientific Publications sections. For general public information have a look at +info.

University. Transferring knowledge to future generations. We participate in different university academic activities summarized in Teaching activities.
