October 21, 2009 - Christine Payne's appearance on the WREK 91.1 radio show "Inside the Black Box". That's her head right there!
K-12 Outreach
High School Researchers
Summer, 2010 - Katelyn Snider, a senior at Roswell High School, assisted Chip Humphries with his LDL transport experiments. Katelyn labeled LDL with fluorophores, recorded emission spectra, and used fluorescent substrates to demonstrate drug-induced inhibition of enzymatic activity in cultured cells. She is pictured with Chip.
Boy Scout Days
October 2, 2010 and February 19, 2011 - The Payne Lab participated in the Alpha Chi Sigma chemistry merit badge days! Boy Scout troops from all over central Georgia got to see live cells on a fluorescence microscope.
Luella High School
April 1, 2010 - Students from Luella High School toured the Payne Lab, the Lyon Lab, and Marcus Nanotechnology Building. They also participated in demonstrations led by the Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society (SAACS).
Carver Early College High School
March 17, 2010 - Mr. Qasim Rehman and students from Carver Early College High School visited Georgia Tech. The visit included tours of the Brown Lab, Payne Lab, and France Lab.
Roswell High School
March 13, 2010 - Members of the Roswell High School Science Bowl team visited the Payne and Brown labs at Georgia Tech. Pictured above are team members and their coach, Mrs. Diane Clark.
