Cloning of catA gene of Acinetobacter calcoaceticus strain ADP1 to observe its expression in E.coli. The LB plates plated on 27th sep were observed for the for the growth of competent cells in different samples of ampicillin and kanamycin plates. There was dense growth of E.coli in all the ampicillin plates and without antibiotic plate. No growth observed in Kanamycin plate. By this we assume that either "E.coli" might have developed resistance to ampicillin or the concentration if antibiotic might not be sufficient to suppress the growth of "E.coli".

Today we freshly prepared LB meduim and Ampicillin. In one bottle we added 800ml of ampicillin and in other we added 1500ml of ampicillin. Plates were poured and allowed to set.
