My Phd work is to develop a new JAVA based language - Kera (meaning coconut in Malayalam). Kera is a programming language based on modularity, user friendliness, a comprehensive bio-rule library and is based on the genome designer data model. Genome Designer is a robust BioCAD platform currently under development in our lab. The unique feature of Kera will be allowing development of structured models that are easier to maintain and implement. Kera will have capability to handle data design models and simulations. We hope to release the first version early next year.
