Hi, my area of interest lies in the interface of plant biotechnology and medicine. Presently I am working on the exploration of substrates of matrix metalloprotease (MMP-2 and MMP-9)and how do they affect cellular behaviour in health & disease (cancer, wound healing etc).

My PhD was on "Characterization of Spent Media during Sandalwood Somatic Embryo Production in Bioreactor" where I emphasized on the point that spent media consist of lot of biologically relevant molecules secreted/leached during plant cell development. Peroxidase and arabinogalactan proteins among them may add value to the overall process economics. Extracellular matrix of plant aroused the interest in the same for animal/human cells as they are more well characterized than the plant counterparts.
