Objective

  • Bead Synthesis
  • UV-Vis of Activated Carbon

Description

  1. Weigh out 0.1000g of Activated Carbon into vials.
    1. BEM and MJ are doing 5 minute increments
    2. AMT and MA are doing 5+3 minute increments
    3. First five minutes are in single increments because Activated Carbon works quickly
  2. Stock solution created by James and Eleni for class (20ppm)
  3. 10mL of stock will be added to each vial
  4. UV-Vis is taken at specific time
  5. At the exact moment, the solution is removed from the vial into epi tubes to stop reaction with malachite green solution
