Objective

Synthesize new Ru(bpy)2(phen-NH2) for ATP synthesis.

Description

Following protocol Lackowicz paper

  1. 1mmol of [Ru(Cl)2(bpy)2] added to 50mL roundbottom (0.4816g)
  2. 1mmol of 1,10-phenanthroline 5-amine added to 50mL roundbottom (0.1974g)
  3. 25mL of methanol added
  4. Reaction run under N2 and refluxed for 3 hours (started at 11 am)
