On robustness The meeting with Tzachi was a perfect one. I discussed with him some issues concerning robustness as conserved quantity, which is an established fact for designed artificial system, but which has not completely established in the case of natural systems. Tzachi describe me some research concerning robustness against mutations as a by-product of evolutionary attenuation of perturbation effects dues to noise, i.e. stochastic fluctuations in protein concentration levels. I will cobtact him later to have some references on the question. It seems that there is real opportunity here to mame some nice experimental research in this domain.
