The meeting

I went today at the photonics building at Boston University. I went there to participate in a meeting on systems biology. The most interesting thing concerning the meeting was the inclusion of some conferences concerning the application of systems biology to medical purposes. One of the talks turned around the mithocondrial diseases. It seems that mithocondrion uses an important quantity of proteins which are not produced by its own genetic machinery, buy by the nuclear cellular machinery. Well, the symposium was interesting and allows me to see the possibilities of systems biology in medical terms, and how engineering is changing because of the inclusion of this new biological science.
