Vincent 04:45, 11 May 2007 (EDT): Julius said on the mailing list: "I think a conference is a great idea. My only concern is having too much of a 'Web 2.0' feeling to it. I personally think Web 2.0 is a fad that will be replaced by something else. Open Science however is a new paradigm that will last if we manage to convince enough people so I would prefer to use that language instead.". I would agree with him about Web 2.0. I tend to relate Open Science with Open Data Access, Open Source and Knowledge sharing. I would say that a technology such as the Web 2.0 is just one of the possible enablings one to reach the goals of Open Science.
